The first book in The God Key trilogy, Return of the Nephilim, introduces freelance journalist and sometime laser-technician, David Connors, 29, along with his boss (and secret crush) Cyndi Malach, 40, Chief Astronomer at Mt. Nebo Observatory in Alexandria, VA.
David has just returned from covering an archaeological dig in the Sinai, where he witnessed the discovery of the original Ten Commandments tablets -- the ones destroyed by Moses. The ancient engravings looked like nothing he's ever seen before, except once: the odd symbols he'd seen on UFO debris from the Roswell Incident of 1947.
He doesn't know what to do about his discovery, or whether to even write about it at all. All he knows is that it's the start of a living nightmare for him: his apartment is broken into, his Roswell photos stolen, and someone (or something) begins mutilating anyone who saw the Commandments symbols.
It's also the start of the End Times, according to Cyndi. Indeed, it's not the end of anything, but the beginning...of sorrows. Much worse than UFOs or their debris is coming to earth, she claims: so are the Nephilim. And they're coming back with a vengeance.
Cyndi helps David learn about the Nephilim, the "Fallen Ones" of Genesis, who and what they were, and what they'll do when they return (December 21, 2012, the so-called "Mayan Doomsday").
And it isn't pretty.
It's up to Dave to stop their return, by solving an ancient puzzle hidden in the Holy Land, known as The God Key. But thousands have died over the millennia in its pursuit...including no less a figure than Alexander the Great. What chance does Laser-Boy have?
It's the Biblical Apocalypse, all right, but with a whole new twist, via Ancient Aliens, in The God Key - Book I: Return of the Nephilim.
